Green & Clean Day is April 9; Townwide Effort to Eliminate Litter Sponsored by the Easton Garden Club

Easton’s annual Green & Clean Day will take place Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 9AM to 4PM.  The townwide effort, sponsored by the Easton Garden Club, will focus on the elimination of litter in Easton.  Residents are encouraged to help clean up trash and debris in their own neighborhoods and along roadsides.

Free clear trash bags are available from March 5 through April 9 at the following locations:  Easton Community Center, Easton Public Works Town Garage, Easton Village Store, Greiser’s Store, Samuel Staples Elementary School and the Easton Public Library.  Separate bags should be used for recyclables and trash.

Filled garbage bags may be dropped off on Green & Clean Day at the Easton Town Garage at 15 Westport Road from 9AM to 4PM, Saturday, April 9.

Green and Clean days have become increasingly popular throughout the United States and Canada as a way for citizens to do their part and keep the towns they live in clean and attractive.   The Easton Garden Club sponsored the Town’s first Green & Clean Day in April 1979.

Only Three Months 'til Garden Mart

Garden Mart will be here sooner than we think!  Saturday, May 7, 2011 is the date, and even though our gardens are covered in many feet of snow, we can all start thinking about which ten plants we'll contribute, and what we will buy to add to our own gardens.  Happy planning!
